Investigators Employ Protege to Model Pandemic Scenarios
A 2007 publication by Eriksson, Morin, Jenvald et al. proposes to "better understand the impact of community structure on the reproduction rate of diseas, and the relative benefits of different types of prevention and interventions." Protege is an open source ontology modeling tool which the investigators used to provide a flexible representation of the sceanrio models. The team developed an extension to Protege to assist in creating scenario specifications that encompass the disease, the community and interventions.
