A consortium of member organizations with an interest in healthcare education, MedBiquitous participates in development of technology standards to promote collaboration and improved health care delivery.

MedBiquitous: Consortium for Healthcare Systems Collaboration

MedBiquitous consists of member institutions involved in the development of standards for interoperability of health care systems information and technologies. To date these standards have included:

  • XML standards for communications among professional societies, certifying boards, educators and industry
  • XML Web services designed for communities of healthcare professionals
  • Software components to assist in implementation of XML standards

MedBiquitous is one of several organizations recognized by the ADLCommunity as candidate members for a proposed SCORM Stewardship Working Group.

As part of its swine flu coverage, highlighted by the revelation on the same day that two UK citizens were confirmed to have contracted the disease, the Guardian reviewed the British government's pandemic flu contingency plan.
